Hello Freshman Students and Families,

We hope you're getting excited for the start of the school year! As we get ready to welcome the Class of 2030 to South Elgin, we'd like to invite you to two events that will help students and families feel more prepared and connected before the first day of school.

Freshman Parent Night will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. This is an event where students and their families can learn more about South Elgin High School and the many supports available throughout the school year. We'll begin in the auditorium with a welcome presentation, offered in English & Spanish.  Please enter door 5, near the Auditorium.

Throughout the evening, you'll be able to explore the building, walk through your student's class schedule, and visit staff members at different information tables. If you still have any registration documents to turn in, please bring them with you, and our registration staff will be happy to assist you.

On Wednesday, August 19, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., we'll host Freshman Orientation, which is for students only. This is another opportunity for freshmen to become more comfortable in the building, walk through their schedules at their own pace, ask questions, and learn about the people, programs, and resources that will support them throughout their freshman year.  Please enter door 51, near Athletics.  Even if students attended Freshman Connection, we still invite them to join us for Freshman Orientation!

We hope you'll join us for these events. They're a great way to ease those first-day nerves, meet members of the South Elgin community, and start the school year with confidence.

We can't wait to welcome you to Storm Nation!

Go Storm!
