Addiction assistance

→  offers emergency shelter for people ages 12-20 years old who have been locked out or are experiencing homelessness. Short-term services include meals, bed, and clothing.

Youth in Transition

→ provides up to 18 months of transitional housing to young adults ages 17.5-21 years old as well as supports focus on employment, education, daily living, and financial stability

Pregnant and Parenting -- Successful Teens/ Effective Parents (STEPs) 

→ provides specialized services to pregnant and parentingyouth ages 18-21 years old. Includes counseling and case management for parenting and childcare-related support and training.

Home Goods Pantry 
We provide home goods items on Tuesdays from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and Thursdays from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. 

Homelessness Prevention & Emergency Assistance Programs
The Salvation Army provides emergency assistance to help with mortgage/rent, utility bills, clothing, medication bills, and other needs in order to keep families in their homes. If you are looking for help or have concerning information about a friend, you can call or text their numbers to get them assistance. Sometimes, friends aren't able to get the help that they need, or they don't recognize they need help.

Also, this site has ways to get help for yourself as well.

Free Emotional Support Text Line

Gov. Pritzker announced the start of a free emotional support text line, Call4Calm for residents who have been experiencing emotional distress. Residents can text "TALK" to 552020 for to speak with a mental health counselor. Spanish-speaking residents can text "HABLAR" to 552020 for Spanish speakers. People who use the service will remain completely anonymous.

Residents can also text with key words, such as "unemployment," "food," or "shelter" to get more information about help with these issues.
